This past week the kids and I were at my parents house and we saw two fire trucks drive behind their fence and through the gate to the neighborhood. When the second one went by we decided to go see where it was going. When we opened the garage there was a police car in the drive way and all sizes of fire trucks lining the street. We walked down the street to find a neighbor's house up in flames. The sad part is the teenage boy had started the fire on purpose and then left to hide at the park down the street. It is a longer story than I'm sure you want to read, but long story short the boy was mad and is now in jail for arson and the mom is devastated from loosing everything. It is so sad. Luckily they have good neighbor's along with the Red Cross who helped to get them clean clothes and the things they needed for the next few days. On a lighter note, Bryton just went on a tour of a fire station a few weeks prior so he thought it was pretty cool to see the fire trucks and fire fighters in action!
This is a view from the end of the court across from my parents house. There were more emergency vehicles behind me that I did not capture. It was CRAZY!
I could not get a picture from the front of the house but here is one of the flames that were coming from the roof of the house. It is the one story behind the trees. You can see the water trying to spray it out from above. It took over an hour to get it out with three separate sources of water!
